You throw your sticks and stones

in attempt to break the broken home

Except words are their sticks and stones

and her home represents her bones.

But she manages to pick herself up again

and plug her earplugs in, ignoring those

comments of being ‘low on the food chain’.

She knows she’s stronger than everyone

and will always find a reason to smile in the long-run.

Robert Frost is known for the saying ‘Stay Gold’,

which she always will plan to do

because if you don’t, your heart will grow cold.
