untitled

you fell in love with him;

he was youthful, passionate, selfless

you fell out of love with him;

he became childish, hotheaded, disinterested

you projected it onto me;

i felt guilty, strained, reserved

it wasn’t your fault, but it wasn’t mine either

Despair

wish I could be happy for you,

but your smiles are just a reminder;

a reminder of how broken I am.

I don’t want to hear about how well you’re doing.

so don’t tell me.

you keep your happiness to yourself and I’ll keep my despair to myself

Starting Now

starting now

I am no longer apologizing for my emotions,

I am no longer allowing myself to be walked all over,

I am no longer drowning myself to live up to everyone’s expectations

starting now, I stand up for myself

starting now
